Bybit TradFi Review
Bybit TradFi lets Bybit users trade gold, oil, forex and index CFDs on MetaTrader 5 from a USDT balance. The CFDs are provided through an offshore entity (Infra Capital, licensed by the Mauritius FSC, according to Bybit), with leverage far above UK/EU retail limits, so it suits experienced traders who already hold USDT, not beginners.

Trade responsibly. CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Your capital is at risk. Bybit TradFi publishes the share of its retail clients who lose money on CFDs; read it in its own risk warning before you open an account.
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Gold, oil, FX and indices on MT5 from the same USDT balance many crypto traders already hold.
- Per-lot commissions are published on Bybit's fee page ($6 per lot for FX and metals in Tight-Spread mode, $3 per lot for oil and commodities).
- Several routes to gold exposure in one account: XAUUSD CFDs, tokenised gold (XAUT) spot and gold perpetuals.
Limitations
- CFDs come from an offshore entity (Mauritius FSC), with weaker investor protection than an FCA- or CySEC-regulated broker.
- Leverage of up to 500x on FX is far above UK/EU retail caps and can wipe out a position very quickly; positions are liquidated when the margin level falls below 50%.
- Funding in USDT adds stablecoin exposure and extra transfer steps.
- Bybit says the margin check does not include the commission, so a position can open with less free margin than you expect.
- Not available to residents of the US, Canada and other excluded jurisdictions; Bybit's UK service is spot crypto only.
Who it may suit
Experienced traders outside the UK, US and other restricted regions who already hold USDT on Bybit, understand leverage and liquidation, and want to trade gold or oil CFDs on MT5 without moving funds to a separate broker.
Consider alternatives if
You are a beginner, you live in the UK or EU, or you want a regulated broker with investor compensation and retail leverage limits. A multi-regulated CFD broker such as FxPro (see our FxPro review) is the more conservative choice.
Frequently asked questions
Can I trade gold on Bybit?
Yes. Bybit offers gold CFDs such as XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5 through Bybit TradFi, plus tokenised gold (XAUT) spot and gold perpetual contracts. The CFDs are provided by an offshore entity, Infra Capital (Mauritius FSC), according to Bybit.
Is Bybit TradFi regulated?
According to Bybit, its CFDs are powered by Infra Capital, which holds a licence from the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius. That is an offshore licence: it does not give the protections of UK FCA or EU CySEC regulation, such as retail leverage caps or compensation schemes.
What does Bybit charge for gold and oil CFDs?
Bybit's fee page (updated 30 July 2026) lists a commission of $6 per lot for forex and metals in Tight-Spread mode and $3 per lot for commodities and oil, plus overnight swaps, with a triple swap on set weekdays. Check the current fee page before trading.
Is Bybit available in the UK?
Bybit returned to the UK in December 2025 through Archax with spot crypto trading, according to press reports. Its TradFi CFDs are not presented as a UK service, and this page is not directed at UK residents.
How this review was prepared
Based on Bybit's own TradFi guide (27 Jul 2026), its CFD fee page (updated 30 Jul 2026), its gold trading guide (13 May 2026) and its restricted-countries page (updated 1 Sep 2026), all checked on 26 Sep 2026.
