Brent Crude Oil

The global crude benchmark — its drivers, and how it relates to US WTI.

Brent crude is the global oil benchmark, based on North Sea crude and priced at sea, which makes it the reference for most international oil. It is highly correlated with US WTI but tends to carry a premium reflecting global (rather than US-specific) supply and demand — the gap between them is the Brent–WTI spread.
