Prop Firm Drawdown Calculator
How much can you still lose today, and overall, before you breach your prop firm's loss limits? Pick your programme and enter your numbers.
Most prop firm accounts fail on the loss limits, not the profit target. The daily floor is usually measured from the day's starting balance (FTMO, FundedNext) or from the higher of balance and equity (FundingPips), and open trades count. This calculator applies each firm's published formula and shows the room left before the nearer limit.
Daily limit resets at 00:00 CE(S)T. Open-position P/L counts toward both limits.
You can lose at most
$2,200
before hitting the daily loss limit (today). At $500 risk per trade, that is 4 full losing trades.
- Daily loss floor (today)
- $97,000 · room $2,200
- Maximum loss floor
- $90,000 · room $9,200
Educational estimate from the firms' published formulas. Spreads, slippage, swaps and commissions can move equity past a floor. The firm's own dashboard is the authority.
How each firm calculates the limits
From each firm's own pages, read on 26 Sep 2026. Links are in the sources below.
| Firm | Daily loss | Maximum loss | Open trades |
|---|---|---|---|
| FTMO | Balance at 00:00 CE(S)T minus 3% (1-Step) or 5% (2-Step) of the initial balance | 2-Step: static, 10% below the initial balance. 1-Step: trailing, 10% of the initial balance below the highest balance recorded at 00:00 CE(S)T | Equity (balance plus open P/L, swaps and commissions) must stay above both |
| FundedNext | 3% (Stellar 1-Step) or 5% (2-Step) of the initial balance, measured from the start of the day; resets 00:00 server time (GMT+3 in summer, GMT+2 otherwise) | Static: 6% (1-Step) or 10% (2-Step) below the starting balance | Realised and unrealised P/L, swaps and commissions count |
| FundingPips | 3% (1 Step Flex) or 5% (2 Step Standard) below the higher of balance or equity at 00:00 platform time (UTC+3) | Static: 12% (Flex) or 10% (2 Step) below the starting account size | Floating and closed P/L count |

Frequently asked questions
How is FTMO's maximum daily loss calculated?
FTMO recalculates it at 00:00 CE(S)T as the balance at that moment minus the Maximum Daily Loss Amount: 3% of the initial capital on the 1-Step Challenge and 5% on the 2-Step. Its example: on a 100,000 1-Step account with a 102,000 balance at midnight, the day's limit is 99,000. Equity, including open positions, must not drop below it.
How is FundedNext's daily loss limit calculated?
As the initial balance multiplied by the programme's daily percentage (3% on Stellar 1-Step, 5% on Stellar 2-Step), counting realised and unrealised P/L, swaps and commissions, and resetting at 00:00 server time. In FundedNext's example, a trader who is 2,000 up on a 100,000 account with a 5% limit can lose 7,000 that day.
How is FundingPips' daily loss calculated?
At 00:00 platform time (UTC+3) the system records balance and equity, and the higher of the two is the baseline. The daily floor is 5% (2 Step Standard) or 3% (1 Step Flex) below it. FundingPips' example: balance 105,000 and equity 107,000 give a 107,000 baseline and a floor of 101,650 at 5%.
What is a trailing maximum loss?
A limit that moves up with your results. On FTMO's 1-Step Challenge the maximum loss floor is 10% of the initial capital below the highest balance recorded at 00:00 CE(S)T on any earlier day, so a 104,000 end-of-day balance lifts the floor on a 100,000 account from 90,000 to 94,000. Static limits, used by the other programmes here, never move.
Do open trades count toward the limits?
Yes, at all three firms. FTMO measures equity including open positions, FundedNext includes unrealised P/L, swaps and commissions, and FundingPips counts floating and closed P/L.
Is this calculator official?
No. It applies the formulas the firms publish, read on 26 Sep 2026. Rules change and the firm's own dashboard is the authority. VERIFY CURRENT DATA before trading.
