Is the oil market open right now? WTI and Brent futures hours, breaks and key times, shown in your time zone.
WTI crude futures trade on CME Globex from Sunday 18:00 to Friday 17:00 New York time, with a daily break from 17:00 to 18:00. Brent crude futures trade on ICE from Sunday 23:00 to Friday 23:00 London time, with a daily break from 23:00 to 01:00. Both are closed on Saturdays.

Frequently asked questions
What time does the oil market open?
WTI crude futures open on CME Globex at 18:00 New York time on Sunday. Brent crude futures open on ICE at 23:00 London time on Sunday. The tool above shows both in your own time zone.
Is oil traded 24 hours a day?
Almost. WTI trades from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon (New York time) with a one-hour break every day from 17:00 to 18:00 New York time. Brent trades from Sunday 23:00 to Friday 23:00 London time with a two-hour break from 23:00 to 01:00 London time.
Is the oil market open on weekends?
No. Oil futures close on Friday (17:00 New York for WTI, 23:00 London for Brent) and reopen on Sunday evening. Prices can gap when trading resumes.
When is the oil market most active?
Trading activity tends to be highest when both London and New York are working, and around scheduled data: the API's weekly stock figures on Tuesday afternoon and the EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report on Wednesdays at 10:30 New York time. This is a tendency, not a rule.
What are the daily settlement times?
WTI settles from 14:28 to 14:30 New York time and Brent from 19:28 to 19:30 London time. Settlement prices are the reference for daily profit and loss on futures accounts.
Are oil CFD hours the same as futures hours?
Usually close, but not always. Each broker sets its own CFD trading hours and daily breaks, often based on the futures. Check your broker's contract specification.
Do these hours change on holidays?
Yes. CME and ICE publish holiday schedules with early closes or closed days. The tool does not show holidays, so check the exchange calendars before a holiday.
