Editorial Policy
How Marlin stays independent of its affiliate partners, sources its facts, credits its authors and corrects mistakes.
Marlin is a financial market intelligence site, so accuracy and independence matter more than volume. This policy is the standard we hold our pages to. The step-by-step process is on the methodology page.
Last reviewed 31 October 2026. How we review brokers: the eight steps.
Independence and funding
Marlin is funded by affiliate commissions on some links to brokers, prop trading firms and trading tools. Commission is never a factor in what we conclude, in which downsides we mention, or in whether we publish a critical point. Partners do not write our content. Every affiliate call-to-action is disclosed; see the affiliate disclosure.
Facts, analysis and opinion
We keep facts (sourced and dated) separate from analysis and opinion, and we do not present opinion as fact. We do not make personal buy or sell recommendations, publish trading signals, or promise returns.
Sourcing standards
Market and macro facts are taken from official or primary sources wherever they exist. Product facts (fees, regulation, platform features, prop firm rules) are taken from the provider's official documentation and regulator registers, and are dated. We do not fabricate prices, spreads, regulatory status, commissions, statistics, reviews or customer experiences. If we cannot verify something against a current source we omit it or mark it VERIFY CURRENT DATA.
Authors and accountability
Every article names its author and shows when it was published and last updated. Authors are listed with the areas they actually work on; we do not claim qualifications or credentials that we cannot document, and we do not present authors as licensed financial advisers. See the author page.
Use of AI tools
AI tools may assist with research and drafting. Each article is reviewed and edited by its named author before publication, and unreviewed AI output is not published as analysis.
Corrections and updates
If you believe something is wrong, use the contact page. We check the claim against the source, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the page's Updated date. Pages that depend on changing information (fees, rules, regulation) are re-checked and re-dated when we update them.
Risk and advice
Content is educational and is not investment advice. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss; see the risk disclosure.
