Trading Journal
Why you entered, which way, what triggered it, which news.
Write each trade down while it is fresh: the reason, the direction, the trigger and the news in play. Add the result and what you learned. Your entries stay in your browser, you can export them to CSV, and nothing here is a signal.
Testing a strategy? Use the Strategy Validation Checklist and its 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 planner. Looking for the bigger picture? My Trading System holds your rules and limits; Marlin Today shows the news windows for the day.

Why keep a journal You cannot fix what you did not write down.
A few lines per trade show patterns you do not see in the moment: the trigger you keep chasing, the news that shakes your plan, the days you felt rushed. Review it weekly and change one thing.
A good entry in 30 seconds Reason, trigger, news, result, lesson.
- Why: one sentence tied to your plan.
- Trigger: the exact event that made you enter.
- News: the release or headline, or none.
- After: win, loss or break-even, the result in R, did you follow your plan, how you felt.
- Lesson: one line for next time.
Frequently asked questions
Is my journal sent anywhere?
No. Entries stay in this browser (local storage). We do not receive them. Clearing site data removes them, so use Export CSV now and then.
What should I write in each field?
Why: the reason in your own words and how it fits your plan. Trigger: the exact moment you pressed the button. News: the release or headline in play, or "none". After the trade, add the result, whether you followed your plan, how you felt and one line you learned.
Where do the news quick picks come from?
From the same calendar as the Today page: the core US releases (CPI, NFP, FOMC, PCE, GDP, EIA) within 36 hours of the time you set. You can always type your own.
What do the numbers at the top mean?
They count your own entries: how many you wrote, how many are closed, the share of wins among closed trades, and how often you marked that you followed your plan. They are not a forecast and not a measure of future results.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It works in the browser and in the installed app. Entries are stored on that device only, so a second device has its own journal.
